Facials in Burke: what your skin actually gets from an hour on the table

A spa facial is a pleasant hour. A medical-grade facial is a working appointment — the difference is not the candles, it is whether anything measurable changes in the skin afterwards.

At Amata Lucè, every facial starts with an assessment by a registered nurse, because the right treatment for congested skin, thinning skin, pigmented skin and tired skin are four different treatments.

This guide explains what each option actually does, who it is for, what it costs, and what a first visit looks like — so you can book with your eyes open.

    01

    Spa facial vs. medical-grade facial

A classic spa facial cleanses, steams, exfoliates and masks. It leaves skin fresh for a few days, and there is nothing wrong with that — as long as you know that is what you are buying.

A medical-grade facial works at a different depth: clinical-strength actives, devices that reach the dermis or the facial muscles, and a plan that connects each session to the next. The results accumulate instead of evaporating by the weekend.

The honest test is simple: ask what the treatment changes in the skin, and how long that change lasts. If the answer is only "glow," you are buying the afternoon, not the outcome.

    02

The facial menu, translated into plain English

TAMA microcurrent facial lifting — $150 per session, or a series of ten for $1,250. Low-level electromagnetic current re-educates the facial muscles and stimulates collagen production. No needles, no downtime. This is the treatment for skin that has started to descend — jawline, brows, cheeks — and for anyone who wants lift without injectables. One session is a preview; the series is the treatment.

Custom medical-grade peels — from $150. Chosen for your skin tone and concern on the day: pigment, congestion, dullness, fine texture. Our chemical peel guide explains the week of peeling honestly before you commit.

Microneedling — $350 per session. Collagen induction for acne scars, texture and firmness, always with Celluma LED light therapy included to calm and speed recovery. See the microneedling guide for the full picture.

Skin Classic spot treatment — from $125. Not a facial, but often what people booking a facial actually need: clearing the skin tags, milia, broken capillaries and cherry angiomas that no facial touches.

If you are not sure which of these your skin is asking for, that is exactly what the assessment is for. You will not be sold the most expensive option — you will be told which one matches the problem.

    03

    Who each treatment is for

Tired, dull, congested skin. A custom peel resets the surface; a short series changes the baseline.

Softening jawline, heaviness around the brows and cheeks. TAMA microcurrent, as a series — muscles respond to training the same way they do in the body.

Acne scarring, rough texture, early laxity. Microneedling, three to six sessions spaced four to six weeks apart.

Pigment — melasma, sun spots, post-acne marks. Peel-led care with strict light protection; our melasma guide explains why the home routine matters as much as the table time.

Most faces need a sequence, not a single treatment. We map that sequence at the first visit, with dates and totals, before you commit to anything.

    04

What a first visit looks like

You will not be taken straight to the table. The first appointment is a conversation and an examination: your history, your products, what has worked and what has not, and a close look at your skin under proper light.

Gloria Dawit-Puri, RN and Master Esthetician, leads every assessment. You leave with a written plan — which treatments, in which order, at what cost — whether or not you book anything that day.

Treatment itself is calm and unhurried. Sessions run forty-five to ninety minutes depending on the protocol, and most people return to normal life immediately afterwards.

    05

    Cost, honestly

TAMA microcurrent lifting facial: $150 per session; a series of ten is $1,250.

Custom medical-grade peel: from $150 per session.

Microneedling: $350 per session, Celluma LED included.

Skin Classic spot treatment: from $125.

Monthly payment plans are available through Cherry financing if you would rather spread a series across the year.

A series priced honestly beats a single session sold hopefully. Where a series is the right answer, we will say so — and where one session is enough, we will say that too.

    Common Questions

How much does a facial cost in Burke, VA?
At Amata Lucè in Burke, a TAMA microcurrent lifting facial is $150 per session (or a series of ten for $1,250), custom medical-grade peels start from $150, microneedling is $350 per session, and Skin Classic spot treatment starts at $125.
What is the difference between a spa facial and a medical-grade facial?
A spa facial refreshes the surface for a few days. A medical-grade facial uses clinical-strength actives and devices that reach deeper layers of the skin or the facial muscles, so results accumulate across a series rather than fading by the weekend.
How often should I get a facial?
It depends on the treatment and the goal. Microcurrent lifting works as a series of ten, then maintenance every four to six weeks. Peels are usually a short series spaced weeks apart. At your assessment we will give you a schedule with dates, not a vague 'come back often.'
Can a facial help with acne scars or melasma?
A standard facial cannot — scars need collagen remodelling (microneedling) and melasma needs careful pigment management, usually peel-led. That is why every visit here starts with an assessment: the concern decides the treatment, not the menu.
Is there any downtime after a facial?
TAMA microcurrent and most custom peels have little to no downtime — you can return to your day immediately. Medium-depth peels involve several days of visible peeling, which we will walk you through before you book.
Do I need a consultation before booking a facial?
Yes — every new client begins with an assessment by Gloria Dawit-Puri, RN. It is how we avoid selling you the wrong treatment, and you leave with a written plan whether or not you book.
