What is Microneedling and How Does it Work?
Microneedling works by triggering the skin's natural healing cascade. The process can be broken down into three main phases:
Inflammation: Immediately after the micro-injuries are created, the skin initiates an immune response. This cleanses the wounds, removes debris, increases blood flow, and begins the creation of new tissue.
Proliferation: New granulation cells (part of the extracellular matrix) and new networks of blood vessels develop. This is the phase where new collagen and elastin are formed.
Remodeling: The newly formed collagen and elastin are replaced with stronger types, leading to a tightening of the skin. This phase can continue for up to a year after the treatment.
The result is a comprehensive rejuvenation effect, improving skin texture, reducing the appearance of scars and wrinkles, and promoting a healthier, more radiant complexion.
